Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is a relentless, progressive and degenerative disease that affects 150,000 people in the United States and nearly three million worldwide.
It is the most common inherited neuropathy, caused by over 140 known genetic mutations — each one disrupting the body’s ability to move, feel and function. While many cases are passed down through families for generations, CMT can also arise spontaneously, changing the course of a life in an instant.
Right now, there are no treatments or cures for CMT, and every day without a breakthrough means more loss of mobility, independence and quality of life.
With your support, the CMT Research Foundation finds and funds the most applicable research with the highest chance of success.
