Jul 28, 2026 | Foundation News

The Emerging Researcher Forum is a closed, invite-only session held the morning of Day One of the 2026 Global CMT Research Convention, ahead of the main Convention program that kicks off that afternoon. Eligible forum attendees will receive complimentary registration for the full Convention that follows and can also apply for travel stipend support.

Forum: Thursday, September 24 at 11 AM, Royal Sonesta Hotel, Cambridge, MA

The CMT Research Foundation invites early-career investigators, newly appointed professors, postdoctoral researchers, pre-doctoral students, and others from academia and industry, including those working on CMT or applying relevant expertise from another field, to apply. Eligibility is limited to those within 10 years of their terminal degree.

Forum attendees can also apply for a travel stipend of up to $1,200 to cover the cost of attending both the Forum and the Convention, all through the same form. Eligible attendees who don’t receive a stipend will still get complimentary admission to the Convention (a $150 value).

This highly interactive forum brings together the field’s rising scientific leaders to tackle the biggest barriers to CMT therapeutic development. You will:

  • Explore the most pressing challenges in CMT research and drug development
  • Collaborate directly with peers and senior leaders in the field
  • Network with established investigators shaping the direction of CMT research
  • Learn about eligibility and requirements for the next Emerging Researcher Award Grant cycle

Spots are limited, and registration closes September 8, 2026.
