CMT Research Foundation is pleased to announce that Ann Fairchild, executive vice president and general counsel of Siemens USA, has joined the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Fairchild is a seasoned legal executive with more than 25 years of experience at Siemens, one of the world’s largest industrial technology companies, where she has been a strategic advisor to executive leadership and the Board. As executive vice president and general counsel of Siemens USA, she has extensive experience in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance and enterprise risk management. Her leadership has driven significant growth through strategic acquisitions, commercial negotiations and government advocacy initiatives.

“It is a profound honor to serve on the board of CMTRF and collaborate with an organization passionately committed to addressing the needs of those affected by CMT,” said Fairchild. “As someone living with this disease, I understand firsthand the critical need for effective treatments. CMTRF’s impact is evident in its ability to fund high-potential research and foster key partnerships, and I am enthusiastic about collaborating with the Foundation to help drive innovation that expands the therapeutic pipeline to deliver transformative treatments and cures for patients living with CMT.”

Fairchild also serves as a director of Siemens Corporation, the Siemens Political Action Committee and the German American Business Council, engaging in transatlantic business dialogues to advance Siemens’ interests. Previously, she played a key role in the carve-out and public listing of Siemens Energy, establishing its global legal and compliance organization prior to spin-off.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ann to the Board of Directors,” said Peter de Silva, board chair of the CMT Research Foundation. “As our community and organization continue to grow, having an experienced corporate attorney of Ann’s caliber to help lead us has been a long-standing goal. We look forward to working with her to advance our mission of developing treatments and cures for CMT.”

Fairchild received her J.D. from the College of William & Mary School of Law and her bachelor’s degree in commerce from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia. She resides in McLean, Virginia, with her family.
