WEBINAR: A New Way to Fund CMT4C Research

Oct 29, 2026 | CMTRF Foundation News, CMTRF Funded Research

The CMT Research Foundation is launching an innovative fundraising approach for CMT4C. Through the Community Leaders in 4C Program, patients, families, and supporters fund 4C research directly.

85% of your gift supports CMT4C research and community projects recommended by Community Leaders and approved by CMTRF’s program team; 15% supports CMTRF’s general fund.

The 4C community leads the way, helping to identify and select projects for funding and raising the money to make those projects happen.

Your gift gets matched:

  • November: An anonymous donor will match gifts up to $25,000, meaning the program could generate $50,000+ in its first month
  • December: If the community meets the November match, a second $25,000 match opens through the end of December.
  • Together: Meeting both matches raises $100,000 for 4C research by the end of 2026.

Every gift counts toward unlocking the next match.

Join us to learn how the program works, what projects will be supported, and how you can take part during our introductory webinar on November 4, at 7pm Eastern.

CMT4C is the first subtype in the Community Leaders program, and our hope is that other subtype communities will follow in 2027.
