Deadline Extended: Submit Your Abstract for the 2026 Global CMT Research Convention

Jul 28, 2026 | CMTRF Foundation News

We’re extending our abstract submission deadline for oral presentations.

The original oral presentation abstract deadline for the 2026 Global CMT Research Convention has passed, and we want to give more researchers and clinicians the chance to share their work. The new deadline for oral presentation abstracts is:

August 10, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET

If you’re working on any part of the CMT research pipeline, from foundational biology to clinical trials, we want to hear from you.

Why Submit

The 2026 Global CMT Research Convention takes place September 24 to 26 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the Royal Sonesta Boston. The event brings together patients, researchers, pharma companies, investors, and regulatory agencies working to develop treatments for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Presenting an abstract puts your work in front of that audience, opens the door to new collaborations, and helps accelerate the pace of discovery for the CMT community. For emerging researchers, it’s also a chance to gain visibility and feedback from established voices in the field.

Who Should Submit

Abstracts are welcome across all areas of CMT research and clinical findings, including:

  • Foundational Biology
  • Preclinical Research
  • Drug Discovery
  • Clinical Trials
  • Clinical Management
  • Other CMT-related topics

Presentation Formats

When you submit, you can indicate your interest in either or both formats:

  • Poster presentation
  • Oral presentation (held on Friday)

The presenting author (listed as first author) will receive all correspondence from CMTRF regarding the abstract, so make sure that person’s contact details are accurate at submission.

Formatting Guidelines

To keep the review process fair and efficient, all abstracts must follow a standard structure:

  • Objective
  • Background
  • Design/Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Title limit: 150 characters, including spaces Abstract body limit: 300 words

Abstracts that don’t follow these guidelines may not be accepted for review, so it’s worth double-checking formatting before you hit submit.
