Nearly 200 people gathered at Forgotten Star Brewing in Fridley, Minnesota, for one of the most unique fundraising events around: the Zero K Run, benefiting the CMT Research Foundation.
The concept was simple. Participants got the full race-day experience, complete with bibs, finisher medals, and 0.0 stickers, and when the starter horn sounded, everyone rose from their lawn chair and then sat right back down. No miles logged, no finish line to cross, just a great afternoon of live music, a silent auction, food and community spirit.
The event was hosted by Gary Berg of G.L. Berg Entertainment and his family, and it’s been a huge success each year they’ve hosted.
Every dollar raised went directly to CMTRF to support research into Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a hereditary nerve condition affecting over 3 million people worldwide.
CMTRF has funded dozens of research projects to cure CMT, and there are more active drug trials in CMT than ever before. Events like this one keep that momentum going, and we are so grateful to everyone who showed up, sat down and made a difference.
